In this In-Depth video, we go over the buoyancy weights for both freshwater and saltwater. We teach you how to remove the weight and also talk about some of the tools you want to keep with you.

  • On the bottom of the GLADIUS MINI is a Dive weight held in by two screws.
  • Please make sure to use a screwdriver that matches the screws to avoid stripping the screws. In case this happens, though, extra screws are provided in the packaging for the device.
  • While it is recommended to swap out the Dive Weights based on where the drone will be used, some have reported that using the saltwater weight does not impact operation in fresh water. This has not been fully tested. HOWEVER, using the freshwater weight in saltwater will absolutely affect operation of the device negatively.
  • To switch out the dive weight
    1. Unscrew the dive weight currently in the device.
    2. Carefully pry out the current dive weight (you may want to use a small pry tool for this)
    3. Place new dive weight into the dive weight slot so that it is flush with the device.
    4. Screw the new dive weight in so that the screws are snug, but not over-tight
      • One screw may screw in deeper than the other. This is not an issue as long as the dive weight is flush with the body of the unit.
